Inspiring Phrases from 2 Peter: everything we need for a godly life

Inspiring phrase:everything we need for a godly life

Context:

His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:3-4

My response: This follows on from the last post about abundance vs scarcity.

I have everything I need.

I have everything I need.

This is my mantra for life. I speak this truth many times each day. I speak these words into my anxiety around not being enough and not having enough.

God has given me and you everything we need for a godly life. A godly life is living as God intended humans to live. This may not fit with your image of godly if that image is a bit righteous (self-righteous) and goody two shoes and denying yourself pleasure of any kind. The more I step into a godly life, the more I find abundance of joy and light and love. It’s the best place to be, the best way to live.

And God has given us a full toolkit of all that we need. All the resources we need are available to us. It’s all there already within us. God created us that way – in His image. God’s just waiting for us to recognise that and access all that we already have available to us. We can participate in the divine nature – did you notice that in this paragraph? Mind-blowing, isn’t it?

This not possible through human strength. We’re talking divine power and resources. The power that created the whole universe.

The universe has got our back because the creator of the universe has got our back.

I have everything I need.
