Surrender control of all that you cannot control

Five principles from Ecclesiastes 8:-

  1. Obey those in authority over you without question
  2. There are certain things that no one has any control over – the future, the wind, death…
  3. Leaders can end up bringing hurt upon themselves – power corrupts
  4. The longer it takes for justice to be done, the more the desire for personal revenge grows
  5. No one will ever be able to understand all that God has done

And one passage:-

There is something else meaningless that occurs on earth: the righteous who get what the wicked deserve, and the wicked who get what the righteous deserve. This too, I say, is meaningless. So I commend the enjoyment of life, because there is nothing better for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has given them under the sun.  Ecclesiastes 8:14-15

We want to make sense of things.

It’s a natural urge within each one of us.

And when a good person suffers, that does not make sense.

When a bad person seems to get away with it, that does not make sense.

what is the pointOur whole being cries out at the injustice of it all.

‘What is the point?’

We can’t leave it alone. We obsess over it. We fret about it. We keep coming back to it.

We have no peace.

Surrender.

It all comes back to trust.

Surrender it all to God.

Find a way to trust Him.

Stop searching for answers. There is no explanation that you will ever know. There are no solutions.

surrenderLet God guide you through your pain and confusion and resentment to a place of peaceful surrender.

A place where knowing God is in control is enough.

A place where you can learn to enjoy the moment.

A place where you can work, eat, drink.

Not to forget, not to escape, not to seek oblivion.

But to humbly make every moment the best it can be.
