Do whatever you need to do to tell people about God!

Isaiah 11 is all about the one who is to come.

The one who is described as rising up from the stump of Jesse as a descendant of King David.

The one on whom the Spirit of the Lord will rest. Always.

the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord  Isaiah 11:2

The one who takes pleasure in doing God’s will.

The one who does not judge by appearances, does not judge by hearsay, but with righteousness and justice.

The one who will stand for the needy and the poor of the earth.

The one whose words of truth will pierce hearts and destroy evil.

The one who will display righteousness and faithfulness in everything that he does.

The one under whose influence every living thing will find a way to live in peace and harmony.

The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.  Isaiah 11:6

The one to whom everyone will turn. Everyone.

The one in whom the exiles will find their place of belonging.

The one who we now know to be Jesus.

Thank you God. Thank you so much.

You were angry with me. I get that. You had every reason to be. But you have chosen to withdraw your anger from me and have come close to me to comfort me.

I now know for sure that God is my salvation – without Him, I am nothing. He has saved me.

So I will trust and not be afraid. I mean it. I trust you, God. I trust you to guide me and protect me and live through me. With you in my life, I have nothing to be afraid of. You are stronger than anything else in the universe. You will defend me from anything and anyone that tries to attack me.

Your living waters will flow through me and overflow out of my life. I won’t be able to contain my joy – it will burst out of me uncontrollably.

Thank you, God. Thank you so, so much.

You all need to know how incredible God is and what He has done for me and for every living being. He is beyond description, above anything you can imagine, totally awesome. He has done indescribably mind-blowing things! The whole world needs to know about God!

So shout! Sing! Do whatever you need to do to tell people about God! You won’t be able to keep it in. Because He is great. He is holy. He is God.  Isaiah 12 – my paraphrase
