How to do church Part 3: looking for wisdom in all the wrong places
GET YOUR HEADS ROUND THIS!
God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.
God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
God chose the broken things of this world to undermine those who think they’ve got it made.
Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”?
For…the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength
So…you don’t need to be clever or influential or born into a good family to be a follower of Jesus
Therefore…we have nothing to boast about, other than what God is doing within us – and all the credit for that goes to Him
Is it that we are looking for wisdom in all the wrong places?
Are we being fooled by the seemingly wise?
Are we dismissing the wisdom of God as foolish because of the mouth it is coming from?
Are we writing ourselves off as not clever enough, not together enough, not good enough, when these are exactly the kind of people God is looking to work with?
This message for us as church today was based on 1 Corinthians 1:18-31.
