Be like Paul #13: CRITICS
INTRODUCTION: We all need role models in the faith. In 1 Corinthians 4:16, Paul says ‘Therefore I urge you to imitate me.’ Now Paul may not seem the obvious choice as a role model. Paul’s had a bad press for some of the things he’s said, statements that have been taken out of context and used to promote prejudice and condemnation. However, Paul’s passion for the good news of the Jesus story can be an inspiration to us all and so this month, we’re using the ‘Be like Bob’ meme that went viral on Facebook last year as a framework for our journey through 2 Corinthians.

THIS IS PAUL
Paul has his critics.
Some think he lives by the world’s standards, not God’s.
Some are more impressed by Paul’s letters than by him in person.
Paul however is not into comparing himself with others, but simply getting on with what God has given him to do.
BE LIKE PAUL
VERSE OF THE DAY:
You are judging by appearances. If anyone is confident that they belong to Christ, they should consider again that we belong to Christ just as much as they do. 2 Corinthians 10:7
