INTRODUCTION: We all need role models in the faith. In 1 Corinthians 4:16, Paul says ‘Therefore I urge you to imitate me.’  Now Paul may not seem the obvious choice as a role model. Paul’s had a bad press for some of the things he’s said, statements that have been taken out of context and used to promote prejudice and condemnation. However, Paul’s passion for the good news of the Jesus story can be an inspiration to us all and so this month, we’re using the ‘Be like Bob’ meme that went viral on Facebook last year as a framework for our journey through 2 Corinthians.

Be like Paul.

THIS IS PAUL

Paul would never willingly upset anyone.

But he does tell God’s truth to those who need to hear it and sometimes, the truth hurts.

Paul cares deeply about broken friendships and seeks restoration and reconciliation.

BE LIKE PAUL

VERSE OF THE DAY: 

Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance.  2 Corinthians 7:8-9
