Be like Paul #2: RELIABLE
INTRODUCTION: We all need role models in the faith. In 1 Corinthians 4:16, Paul says ‘Therefore I urge you to imitate me.’ Now Paul may not seem the obvious choice as a role model. Paul’s had a bad press for some of the things he’s said, statements that have been taken out of context and used to promote prejudice and condemnation. However, Paul’s passion for the good news of the Jesus story can be an inspiration to us all and so this month, we’re using the ‘Be like Bob’ meme that went viral on Facebook last year as a framework for our journey through 2 Corinthians.
Be like Paul.
INSPIRATION: 2 Corinthians 1:12 – 2:4
THIS IS PAUL
PAUL HAD PLANS.
PAUL’S HAD TO UNAVOIDABLY CHANGE HIS PLANS.
PAUL FEELS BAD ABOUT IT. HE HATES TO LET PEOPLE DOWN.
HE GIVES A GOOD EXPLANATION.
BE LIKE PAUL
VERSE OF THE DAY:
Now this is our boast: our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace. 2 Corinthians 1:12
